What We Believe

What We Believe

We believe that each of us can have a personal relationship with God through Jesus. Jesus was God living as a human. Jesus reveals God’s character, commitment and capacity. In the life, ministry and teachings of Christ, God shows us the things that are right, good, true and beautiful. In Christ’s death on the cross, we see the depth of God’s commitment to seek us out to reclaim us as members of God’s family, regardless of the cost. In Christ’s resurrection, we see the power of God to overcome every obstacle, even death. Because of Jesus, we believe that God offers each of us, no matter what is in our past, the invitation to build the future together.

God also commissions us to be partners in the continuing work of making this world a blessed place. God calls each of us to participate in transforming our communities and the world. We become more capable partners in this work by developing the habits of worship, prayer, wisely managing our time and resources, learning from the Bible, participating in the family of faith, and accepting the responsibility to be ambassadors of Christ.
